Camden, ME - 11 August 2014. Curtis Island light marking the entrance to Camden. A lighthouse was first built there in 1836, and the current tower, completed in 1896, replaced the original. Since it was just outside of Camden, it was a plum assignment for lighthouse keepers.The lighthouse is now owned and maintained by the town of Camden.
