  • Two 1870 maquette's by Frédéric Bartholdi for the Statue of Liberty, in terracotta on the left, and bronze in the center, together with an 1879 "American Committee Model" in bronze, produced as a money-making souvenir to raise the funds needed to build a pedestal for the statue. The maquettes reflect the evolution of the design for the statue.
